Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Group
The staff at Benedictine Living Community of St. Peter are aware of the importance of education and support for family and friends of people who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and different forms of dementia. We also know that no two people experience dementia in the same way. As a result, there’s no one approach to caregiving.
On the first Saturday of each month from 9:30 a.m.-11a.m., community members and family members of residents at Benedictine Health Center gather to discuss issues associated with these diseases. They share their caregiving stories with other people in the same situation. The staff also help caregivers take steps to preserve their own well-being. Benedictine Health Center offers the support group in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association. The support group has helped many loved ones through the difficulties of living with and caregiving for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia. This no-cost support group is available to anyone in the community.
The support group meets the first Saturday of the month, 9:30-11:00 a.m., in the activity room at the Benedictine Health Center, 1907 Klein Street.
